In the 2024-25 school year, Jordan Vocational High School counted 10 Asian students in its enrollment, an 11.1% rise from the prior year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Total enrollment at Jordan Vocational High School reached 1,016 students during 2024-25. Asian students represented 1% of the population, marking them as the smallest demographic group at the school.

Situated in the Muscogee County School District, the school operates under the district’s central office based in Columbus.

Of all 51 schools in Muscogee County School District, Columbus High School had the largest Asian student enrollment in 2024-25, with 183 students.

The National Center for Education Statistics reported Georgia’s public school student breakdown as about 36.4% Black, 35.9% white, 18.1% Hispanic, 4% Asian, 4.6% multiracial, 0.2% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.1% Pacific Islander.

Chronic absenteeism, which increased after the pandemic, affected 20.7% of Georgia students in 2024 who missed 10% or more school days, according to GaDOE. The state department launched a real-time attendance dashboard, a public awareness effort, and special support for high-need districts to encourage better attendance.

In 2025, legislation in Georgia changed school attendance laws to forbid expelling students solely due to absences. The law also brought new reporting mandates and supports alternative diploma pathways for students.

Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio stood at approximately 14:1 by 2026, better than the national ratio of 15:1.
