The Chattahoochee County School District recognized National School Nurse Appreciation Day on May 6, highlighting the important role of school nurses in the community.
School Nurse Appreciation Day is a time to acknowledge the care and dedication that school nurses provide. According to the district, “On School Nurse Appreciation Day, we recognize the incredible care, compassion, and dedication school nurses bring to our communities every day. They are often the first to respond, the ones who listen, comfort, and advocate for student well-being with both skill and heart. Their impact reaches far beyond treating illnesses—they help create safe, supportive environments where students can thrive. We are truly grateful for all that they do.”
The district invited community members to join in expressing appreciation for its school nurses: Sharin Lindhorst at CCEC; Alison Wigand at CCMHS; and Alysssa Ceravone at CCMHS.
The recognition reflects ongoing efforts by schools nationwide to highlight staff who contribute significantly to student health and safety.
As schools continue their work supporting students’ well-being, officials said they remain grateful for their nursing staff’s commitment.
