Harris County offices and waste facilities announce closures for New Year’s Day

In observance of New Year’s Day, the offices and Solid Waste Transfer Station will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026. Operations are set to resume normal business hours on Friday, January 2, 2026.

Trash collection scheduled for Thursday will take place on Friday instead. The Solid Waste Convenience Centers will maintain their usual operating hours from Friday through Monday, open between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
