County of Talbot recently issued the following announcement.
GARBAGE FEE INCREASE NOTICE
Following a substantial rate increase from Dependable Waste Services for the Garbage Collection Service Fee, the Talbot County Board of Commissioners requested bids for the Solid Waste Collection Services Contract. The bid was awarded to the lowest bidder, Green for Life (GFL) Environmental.
There will be an annual rate increase for the Garbage Service Fee; the rate for 2021 will be $162.00 and for 2022, the annual fee will be $180.00. Anyone requesting a second cart, will be charged an additional annual fee of $120.00. The Garbage Service Fee is on the annual property tax bills.
