County of Harris issued the following announcement on Nov. 15.

After many months of preparation, public meetings, and updates, the draft Unified Development Code (UDC) is now ready for public review and comments. Comments can be made on the official project email listed on the official project page.

The first reading (public hearing) of the UDC was Wednesday, October 20 before the Planning Commission in Room 223 at the county courthouse, 102 North College Street in Hamilton.

The second reading (public hearing) was Tuesday, November 2 before the Board of Commissioners in Room 223 at the county courthouse, 102 N. College Street in Hamilton.

The Board of Commissioners did not approve the UDC in its current form. Therefore, the Board will continue to meet to discuss the UDC until its acceptance. The next meeting to discuss the UDC will be Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at the county library, 7511 State Route 116 in Hamilton. This will be a public meeting where the public can observe but not participate in the meeting. If any questions or concerns, please contact the Administration Department at 706-628-4958.

For more information about the UDC, visit the official project page or contact the Community Development Director, Brian Williams, at 706-628-4700.
