Sumter County Fire Rescue plans to conduct a joint training/ public service event July 31st at Lake Blackshear near the sand bar area.
Sumter County Fire and Rescue asks that all boaters on Lake Blackshear stay clear of the area commonly referred to as the “sand bar” during the morning to afternoon hours this Sunday, July 31st. There will be a joint training/ public service event conducted that day with the Lee County and Cedar Creek Fire Department Dive teams to clean up the area after the July 4th festivities. A reminder that by law, ALL vessels including jet skis SHALL not operate within 100 ft of Diver Down Flags whether on another vessel or a flag buoy. SCFR thanks everyone for their cooperation.
