The latest movie from filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, titled "Police State," will be shown at a Columbus movie theater on Oct. 25. The film explores what D’Souza describes as "police state" activity by the government, from the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks to the more recent instances of COVID lockdowns, social media censorship, and the prosecution of concerned parents at school board meetings. It also delves into the surveillance and detention of Americans who were present in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021.
D’Souza expressed his surprise at the need to make a film like "Police State," stating, "I honestly wouldn't have believed, prior to the 2020 election and prior to Biden coming to office, that I’d be making this movie. Which really shows that we have seen a speedy introduction of the police state on many different levels."
The movie features D’Souza himself, along with actor Nick Searcy, and interviews with U.S. House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R), radio host Dan Bongino, and several government whistleblowers.
The film's trailer has already garnered 74 million views on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), as of publication time.
The Columbus showing of "Police State" will take place at AMC Ritz 13, located at 1683 Whittlesey Rd., on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. Additionally, the movie will be screened in other cities such as Atlanta, Brunswick, Evans, Savannah, and various other communities.
