FOIA Request to Crisp County Election Department Regarding Ballot Counting Methods on October 29, 2024. As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at WC Georgia News have formally requested information under the Georgia Open Records Act § 50.18.70 et seq.

Our request is specifically for a list of methods that the Crisp County Election Department is using to count votes in the upcoming election. In addition, if any of these methods involve manual counting, we have asked for an estimated number of people who will be working on election night.

As a media organization, we believe it's crucial to understand and report on the mechanisms behind our democratic processes. Access to this kind of public record allows us to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage to our readership.

We are hopeful that our status as a media organization will grant us a fee waiver for this request, as access to such information is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

We await a response from the Crisp County Election Department and will keep our readers updated with any developments.
